 | The New International LONESTAR Let me start off by saying I'm not much of a International fan. Driving a junky International 8600 at work everyday has put International pretty far down on the list of favorite trucks to drive. Don't get me started on the quality of service we receive at our local dealership. That being said, when I first seen this truck revealed at the 2008 mid america truck show. It was love at first sight. International is not really known for their flashy trucks, but I have to say this truck is about as flashy as they get. The truck is a work of art on the outside and in. Looking to start a new career driving a truck? If so you have a couple of choices. You can find a school you like and pay to attend yourself, or lots of company's offer paid training. Paid training usually requires a contract agreeing to work for that company for a specific amount of time. If you default on the contract there will be penalties to pay. Each company has different rules and regulations associated with their paid training programs. So make sure you do your homework and read all the fine print before signing any contract. If you have the means to find your own school and pay for it yourself, then that would be the way to go. I've heard many horror stories of people signing agreement contracts and then, when the company knows they have you. They do whatever they want as far as giving you fewer miles, forcing you to take loads that no one else wants. On the other hand I’ve heard some good story's but more horror stories than good. As said before be sure you do your homework and be certain the company you choose, is who you want to be stuck with for awhile. There's no better research than connecting with other drivers either via the web or at your local truck stop.
